Prayer Night
Monday, September 21; 6-7pm
The Day of Atonement, or Yom Kippur, is the most sacred day on the Jewish calendar. “Atonement” means “covering”—the act of repairing the broken relationship between people and God by covering the sins of the community. In the Old Testament, the high priest offered an atoning sacrifice so the people could be forgiven. In the New Testament, Good Friday becomes the ultimate fulfillment of the Day of Atonement, when Jesus Christ suffered and died on the cross, offering Himself as the final and complete sacrifice.
Yom Kippur highlights the importance of forgiveness, repentance, and reconciliation—making amends with God and with those we have wronged. It is observed through fasting, prayer, and extended time in the church.
Join us as we pray and repent for our personal sins, and pray for the nation and all people.
