Lynwood Friends Church

Sunday Worship at 10am

835 SE 162nd Avenue, Portland OR

Welcome

We are a community, serving and loving our community.

Our history –

Was it 1958?  1959?  There is some debate.  Families were moving into the area and with that, there was a need for churches committed to Jesus Christ and this community.  Even our name, “Lynwood” is part of that effort.  Back then, there were two school districts, Lynch & Rockwood.  We thought “Roch” would be a weird name, so we adopted the community and the name.

Time changes things, including this community.  Even as we struggle in a new world and new sense of what community is, our commitment is the same.  Take what we have and who we are, and do our best to Love God, Love One Another, and Live Out Faith Everyday.  This community is our call.

Digging Deeper

As we explore our current sermon series – Discipleship:  Our Biblical to-do list – we encourage you to check out an old Quaker practice of using questions (Queries) to examine one’s own faith and life. This series is focusing on the practices of faith, and can be found HERE
